Diploma in Work Life Coaching

Course Aims: The aim is to develop skills and attend to the continuing professional development of an employee in the area of work life coaching. This will ensure that the fibre of every organisation will provide coaching that enables work life balance for staff and maximises the productivity for the organisation or business.
Course Outcome Statement: Upon the completion of the course a student will have developed skills so that they can engage in coaching roles and responsibiltiies within a business or organisation, providing an ethical and professional service to the organisation and to the employees.
Course Structure: The course is made up of 8 compulsory modules by e- learning, face to face opportunities and teleclasses. The course shall be completed in numerical order beginning with Module 1 proceeding in order through till Module 8
Module One: Managing as a Work Life Coach
This module introduces the programme and gives an overview introduction to work life coaching in the workplace. Participants will discover the keys to identifying the company culture, identify the key principles to the integration of work and whole of life, and examine the processes for change. Participants will have the opportunity to examine their own values, beliefs and assumptions and address their own shadows, issues of power and personal motivations that block their management as a coach.
Module Two: Leadership as a Work Life Coach and Professional Ethics
Participants will gain a practical understanding of the theory behind various coaching techniques and approaches. This module will focus on key coaching conversations which provide a platform for increased productivity in the workplace. Participants will also draw upon different frameworks that can release the potential of others they work with. This module will also raise the issues of professional ethics of coaching in the workplace; address multiple role relationships, boundaries and issues of conflict.
Module Three: Workplace Issues and Life Complexities.
This module introduces the issues found by employers in the workplace, and gives employer/employee perspectives on issues common to organisations and companies. Participants will examine issues of cultural diversity, personality, team dynamics, empowerment, non-standard employment and flexible working hours. Students gain the opportunity to integrate knowledge and coaching skills to a number of work life complex issues including relationship breakdowns and tensions, anger control and the recurring emotional issues found in employers
Module Four: Whole-istic living at work to maximise potential.
Participants will also identify the strategies required to assist employees in brining their whole of life into balance and focus. The place of recreation, leisure and the demands of employment and success will also be examined. Participants will grapple with the effect and affect of workplace issues upon relationships and gives consideration to parenting, time management, emotional blueprints of employees and personal responsibility.
Student have the option to exit at this point with a Certificate of Work-Life Coaching ( 60 Credits) Level 6 or continue to gain a Diploma in Work-Life Coaching (120 Credits) Level 6.
Module Five: Advanced Interpersonal Coaching Skills- The Essence of Coaching
This module deepens the participants experience and integration of coaching skills, and offers advanced theories and practice of leadership styles, change management, sustainability and talent management in the workplace. Participants will apply and integrate the intersection of “heart and soul matters” with “outer world living”. This module will explore solution focussed coaching and the brilliance of miracles in the workplace offered in this framework of coaching. Participants will gain advanced skills in offering positive feedback, and encourage greater self awareness in the employees they coach.
Module Six: Empowering Leadership To Enhance Work Life Culture
This module will investigate the skills of empowerment in the processes of mentoring and appraising, performance indicators and employer measurements of skill. This module will also give understanding of the management of work-life balance for employers and address the culture of communication in the workplace.
Module Seven: Coaching diversity in work life
This module gives understanding of the particular people groups found in the workplace and the issues for specific people groups e.g. (Maori, Pasifika, Migrants, Disabled, Chronically Ill, Single and Different sexual orientations). This module will also provide students with skills to address generational issues, and rural people in the workplace.
Module Eight: Sanity, Stress and Success in Work Life Coaching
Participants will integrate the learning of this course and work with issues of sanity, mental wellness and fatigue with the demands, desire and drivers of success. This module will investigate the key performance drivers and pressures that face many emerging leaders in the industry and give skills to enable employees to be coached towards success and not burnout. Participants will gain an understanding of the management of stress in their whole of life and how they can utilise skills and strategies in the coaching of peers to minimise stress.
